Stewartville Community Theatre opens the curtain on its 2016 season with A Musical Romeo & Juliet in March followed by CATS in August.
Once again we are bringing something a little different to the stage for our spring show with Shakespeare as you've never heard it before! Aaron Rocklyn's adaptation of the classic tale of star crossed lovers adds familiar music from the better part of the last 50 years. Come and experience a taste of the Bard and settle in for what is likely your first musical-comedy-tragedy!
Then in our usual August slot, Andrew Lloyd Webber's CATS makes a return to the PAC. The story of this show is gathered from T. S. Elliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats, and invites the audience into the Jellicle Ball, a special time in these cats lives at the end of which one cat will be chosen to travel to the Heavyside Layer and receive a heavenly reward. Throughout the ball, the cats make their case for being chosen, but in the end only one will be able to make the journey. Lots of great music and dancing, along with fun costumes make this a great show for the whole family, whether that be in the audience or on stage.
We hope to see you all next year!
